Burgess Travel Adventures will conduct its 3rd Egypt and Nile Cruise Group Tour over Thanksgiving, November 19-28, 2023.

Burgess Travel Adventures is presenting a Civil Rights Tour in 2023. The Tour Group has long been in the planning stages. We will fly from New York City to Birmingham, Alabama. Bill Burgess grew up in Birmingham during the Civil Rights movement. Bill was a pallbearer at the funerals of 3 of the 4 little girls who were killed in the terrorist bombing attack of 16th Street Baptist Church on September 15, 1963. 

 

We will visit the famous church and meet with key stakeholders who are friends of Bill. We will tour the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute where Bill is member of the Board Trustees. We will continue to Montgomery, the State Capital and former Capital of the Confederacy by motor coach. There we will visit the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church where Martin Luther King, Jr. preached, the Rosa Parks Museum and the Legacy Museum Memorial before journeying to Selma where we will walk across the Pettus Bridge. We will tour the campus of Tuskeegee University, founded by Booker T. Washington.

The next stop will be Atlanta, where we will visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Center and the Presidential Library of Jimmy Carter. Our next stop will be the Dr Martin Luther King Jr., Lincoln, and Washington Memorials before our flight back to New York City.

Based on responses from you our viewers, we will plan a German River Cruise in Fall of 2023. The Cruise would include visits to notable castles and stop-offs at various wine tasting sites and ultimately arrive in Berlin for an amazing visit to this incredible European Capital City.
